The chronicle record
Fired by Esquik outdoors over a wall and then inside the Rusty Dragon; patrons applauded the indoor demonstration. Cerith Ferror noted it "put golf-ball-sized holes in the goblins.". The weapon produced strong recoil, causing Ameiko to nearly lose her footing when she fired it, and it made a very loud report. Esquik loaded and reloaded it in public and stated he manufactures his own gunpowder for it. A tavern patron warned that misfires could destroy such weapons and recommended finding a skilled smith for repairs. The demonstration led to talk that "rumors about your weapon will fly all over town" and drew prolonged attention from a local patron. Alkenstar-Style Black Powder Firearm consisted of gears and mechanisms that Esquik recognized as necessary to copy his weapon.
