Session recap
The sun rose over Torrentmoot, casting a warm glow on the gathering of Orcs and their allies. Vaska approached Grothlyn Zor, who quickly hid her reading materials and pretended to be busy splitting logs. Their conversation revealed Grothlyn Zor's surprise at Gurnak's bravery in protecting a child from an undead creature, and Vaska Klashe shared about her tavern in Urgir, currently closed due to recent events. Their exchange was light-hearted, with Vaska Klashe lifting her eyepatch to wink with her magical prosthetic eye, while Grothlyn Zor noticed the attention they were attracting, particularly from Ardax the White-Hair.
As the day unfolded, Fizzik engaged with Davorr, who shared insights about orc culture and the acceptance of Goblins. the Fabulous expressed his desire to elevate Goblins' status in historical accounts, while Davorr noted the ongoing hostility towards them. Meanwhile, Gurnak and Vanna spoke with Kestrel, who praised Gurnak for his heroism and discussed support for Lastwall against the Whispering Tyrant. Kestrel revealed her plans to return to the battlefield, sensing that a significant event was imminent. The atmosphere shifted when the Fabulous suggested investigating a missing tusk, leading them to the Bloodied Gauntlet section of camp, where they encountered an enraged orc demanding justice for his lost tusk. Gurnak examined the empty socket and discovered tiny ashen footprints leading to crates behind a tent. Upon opening one, they were ambushed by a swarm of tooth fairies, leading to a chaotic battle. Vaska Klashe and Gurnak sustained injuries from the fairies' attacks, while the Fabulous and Vanna Wintercrest unleashed their magic and might. After defeating the fairies, they found gold fillings and a bottle of infiltrator’s elixir among the spoils.
Days passed until Ardax the White-Hair summoned The Group, expressing gratitude for their efforts and discussing the need for Belkzen to forge alliances with neighboring peoples. The Group proposed various strategies, including spreading knowledge of orc culture and fostering relationships through trade. Ardax the White-Hair presented them with gold and a Storm Skewermaul, which Vaska Klashe accepted, before urging them to investigate missing scouts. Their search led them to a ravine where they found a wounded orc survivor, who warned them of perytons that had attacked his party. The Group resolved to hunt the perytons, traveling to Broken Spears, where they encountered two of the beasts. A fierce battle ensued, with Vaska Klashe wielding her new maul and Gurnak casting spells to aid his companions. After defeating the perytons, they discovered a likely aerie atop a rock spire.
Upon reaching the summit, they found two perytons in a bitter dispute. The mother offered riches for the death of her traitorous daughter, while the daughter promised treasure for her mother’s demise. Vaska Klashe prepared iron wine for Vanna Wintercrest before the confrontation escalated. Vanna Wintercrest shot the mother peryton, igniting the battle. The Group fought fiercely, with Vaska Klashe delivering a decisive blow to the mother, while the daughter attempted to flee. After a tense negotiation, the daughter revealed the treasure hidden in the nest and promised to leave, allowing The Group to loot the nest and recover valuable items, including an acid flask and a returning rune. With their newfound wealth, The Group prepared to return to Torrentmoot, their bonds strengthened by the trials they faced together.
