The Whispering Tyrant, also known as Tarbaphon, is an undead enemy and conqueror who threatens Belkzen, the elves, and the surrounding countries.
The Whispering Tyrant threatens the elves, and Belkzen’s halls may seek allies to confront him. He is opposed by Belkzen’s orcs and the Knights of Lastwall. Belkzen was once under his control, and Ardax declared that it must never happen again. The Whispering Tyrant was a mortal conqueror and Witch King who sought to become an exceptionally powerful lich by planning for someone with a god’s power to destroy him. Aroden slew him; he returned after Aroden’s ascension, when the god could no longer intervene directly. During the Shining Crusade, the Knights of Ozem called on Arazni to fight him. He killed and humiliated her, then threw her remains back to the Knights; after her physical form was destroyed, Arazni freed herself. The Whispering Tyrant’s radiant fire destroyed a city. Goblins helped Lord Uldun II escape the destruction and fled with him to Absalom, where they remained for a long time. Kestrel described the Whispering Tyrant as worse than the longstanding enemies between the Knights of Lastwall and the orcs. The orcs and surviving knights are considering forming an alliance to combat his forces together.
