Ardax's Overlook

Location overview

Ardax the White-Hair chose the overlook as a safe place to watch the Flood Road, a couple of hours from camp. As the gathering arrived, Vaska and Gurnak noticed the absence of animals or birds nearby. Ardax the White-Hair agreed the air seemed stale and, at Gurnak’s suggestion, decided to alert the advance guard and send scouts. He provided The Party with a spacious pouch containing a potion of water breathing.
From the overlook, the gathering observed a low, debris-filled leading edge of floodwater, followed within minutes by a wall of water about twenty feet high. The flood overflowed the banks, carrying trees, boulders, and house-sized chunks of ice. Muddy undead forms emerged from the earth along both banks. Ardax the White-Hair ordered everyone back to base camp.
