Kendra Deverin

Kendra Deverin is Sandpoint's mayor and one of its most genuinely liked public figures, a woman who inherited both the Deverin family's civic instincts and a sharp practical intelligence that has made her considerably more effective in office than the merely well-meaning tend to be.

Biography

She is warm without being soft, decisive without being imperious, and possessed of the particular gift that good local politicians have of making people feel that their concerns have been genuinely heard even when the answer is ultimately no. She grew up in Sandpoint, knows its people and its history with the intimacy that only that kind of upbringing provides, and her investment in the town's wellbeing is the real kind rather than the performed kind, which the residents can tell and appreciate accordingly.
