Following a conflict with the Darrows, the Scarnettis sold their wine collection to local taverns. Ongoing tensions with the Darrows stem from a forged Cancellation Letter, and there are potential illicit activities linked to Jubrayl Bisky. According to Scarnetti Mill worker Ibor Thorn, the Scarnettis are described as ruthless, and he feared they might have discovered Banny Harker’s skimming. Hemlock considered that they might kill over stolen money but noted that a week or more of mill closure would cost them heavily; he said he would speak with them.
