The Hermit

NPC overview

The Hermit lives in a hut in the western forest and conducts trade from his home. He makes soup and has observed trees that appear to move.
Upon meeting Finnetharyn Fimbleshanks, he referred to her as “the magic mushroom fairy” and described a tree that watched him, later moved to another location, and eventually walked away on rootlike feet. He attempted to speak to the tree, but it ignored him. He reported that Ironfang Legion had come to ransack his home and enslave him, but he killed and buried them after they reacted poorly to his soup. He claimed their deaths were accidental, stating he had only intended to make them suffer, and refused to surrender the soup or invite more Ironfang Legion to eat it. He mentioned that the moving tree had gone north and warned it away from another moving tree, unless both sightings were of the same tree.
