The Dire Bear

Character overview

She was a female dire bear, the size of an elephant. She had caught salmon in a shallow river and left some uneaten.
They left her alone, but she spotted them as they tried to leave and advanced, growling. Finnetharyn Fimbleshanks sang that they were no threat, tasted bad, and should not be eaten; the song confused her long enough for them to escape into the forest. Arden later said she had recently had three cubs, each only a couple of months old but already larger than any of them.
