A spiderlike resident of the ranger hideout claims ownership of the cabin, referring to it as "my house." It lives with smaller spider companions that crawl on the floor and bed within the shelter. The resident waited for the rangers to leave and states they never returned. It allows The Party to take the rangers' belongings but insists they cannot take the house. The resident refuses to confirm whether it is alone, asserting that its spider friends are not inside. It threatens to cocoon intruders, dissolve their innards with poison, and drink them rather than cook them. It offers to help remove webs to avoid harming its smaller spiders. The cabin is filled with webbing, and papers lie on a tabletop beneath it. The expedition recovered ranger papers and left the creature in possession of the hideout.
