NPC overview
Scarvinous is a Hobgoblin Scout leader operating on the far side of the river and is the signatory of Bounty Papers targeting the party. He has survived two arrows through the chest. A rescued Militia Veteran warned the party that Scarvinous was the leader on that side of the river and had been attacked, resulting in the arrows in his chest. The veteran also stated that Scarvinous appeared to have signed the Bounty Papers. Later, Arden reiterated the warning, advising the group to be cautious in the north due to Scarvinous hunting in that area.
Scarvinous is also associated with an offer of recompense and alliance in exchange for support from Hobgoblin Mercenaries tied to Molthune. Fahrak visitors outside a cave announced they had brought recompense from Scarvinous and urged Cave Camp's occupants to come out and negotiate. One Hobgoblin entered alone to present the offer. The party later recovered papers indicating they were close to locating Main Camp by following the centaur's route.
Sergeant Scarvinous, a scale-coated Lead Bugbear sergeant of the Ironfang Legion, fights with paired swords. Scarvinous wears scale-covered protection and carries paired swords. He strides forward from Main Camp, shouting insults and challenges in Goblin, Orc, Common, and Dwarven, offering to take the party’s skins. During the fight at Camp Redjaw, he advanced to confront the group, hurled multilingual taunts, forced his way past front-line defenders multiple times, cut down enemies in close combat, double-sliced Arsène, and left him prone. He was ultimately killed by a force barrage from Finn. He ended a Drakeheart Mutagen in a sudden surge while pressing the party’s back line.
