NPC overview

Jet is the current owner of the Taproot Inn, a recent transplant to Phaendar of mixed Shoanti and Varisian descent. She has twin black braids, black eyes, and a teal scarf worn around her waist that has become as much her signature as the inn's grizzly bear statue out front. The Taproot changes hands with some regularity as proprietors burn out or move on. Jet acquired it recently enough that most of Phaendar still thinks of her as an outsider, though she runs the place with a calm competence that suggests she has been managing difficult situations and difficult people for a long time. She is strict but personable, resourceful in a way that comes from truly surviving off the land rather than simply reading about it. Wandering is not new to her, and she wears that history lightly. Around the fire after a hard day, she tells stories well, with the natural timing of someone who has learned that a good tale is worth more than most other currencies in frontier country. She does not talk much about where she came from or why she ended up in Phaendar specifically. In a town that generally minds its own business, this has not been a problem.
Jet takes charge of injured or vulnerable arrivals at the inn, demonstrating a caring demeanor towards her guests. She has taken care of Mira, providing her with food and ensuring she would be cared for. The morning after Mira's arrival, Jet approached the group with a smile, presenting venison and goat's milk for breakfast. She reported that two people had woken violently ill and were too sick to work. She distributed cooked deer meat to the camp and gathered firewood at the Main Camp, praising Vendel and giving out food during the evening.
In addition to her role at the Taproot Inn, Jet is a refugee in the Upper Caverns who prepared and maintains a kitchen located to the north of the pool. After the party cleared the caverns and refugees moved into the upper level, Aubrin the Green explained that Jet had set up the kitchen to the north of the pool. Jet also serves as the camp's cook, consistently prioritizing serving Vendel Coldblade first during meals and displaying a noticeably attentive demeanor towards him, characterized as flirtatious while delivering food.
