Ibzairiak, also known as Ironfang, Ypsyriac, Dragon Ypsyriac, The Dragon, and simply Dragon: a male bog dragon allied with Ironfang Legion.
Ibzairiak was described as a plague upon the forest for almost a hundred years. Longfrond warned Fangwood Six about it and said it traveled with the Ironfang Legion. At the northern ranger fort, a hobgoblin scout declared that Ibzairiak knew what the party had done and that all “pinkskins” would die; the surviving scout repeated the warning and tried to stab Gundugar Herdtender before being killed. The dragon flew over the fort and destroyed part of its wall with acid. It was among several male bog dragons in the region seeking an ancient female’s favor through displays of power or wealth. It was accompanied by Ironfang Hobgoblins and a druid who served it. After the trolls’ father wrecked Fort Nunder while trying to capture it for the Ironfang Hobgoblins, Ibzairiak and its druid came to the fort. Ibzairiak ate the troll’s father’s face and declared the ruined fort to be the trolls’ payment. Fangwood Six judged the dragon-held fort too dangerous to attack immediately and chose to inspect the western supply fort first; when asked whether they intended to serve Ibzairiak, they said they intended to kill it. At Fort Trova-Lay, hobgoblins threatened an invading party with being fed to Ipsariac if they resisted surrender. When Finnetharyn Fimbleshanks urged surrender, they laughed and ordered the release of trolls, saying the party would have to die. Ipsariac periodically left the fort to court a female dragon, who repeatedly rejected him and sent him to find extremely rare herbs, changing her demands when he returned. While Fangwood Six searched Fort Trevely for Ibzairiak, it remained at large. A ranger warned that it had killed more than two dozen Chernasardo Rangers within minutes, though she did not know whether it was above. A troll warned the party that the dragon would kill them and feed them to Ipsariac, then wait and eat whatever remained. Ibzairiak resided in a mist-filled tower chamber, where gold and silver lay beneath a murky pool. With Jang, it arranged the chamber to resemble a swamp. A woman had promised it a handsome reward for dealing with intruders. Its submerged hoard included a broken lance whose point fit an old scar beneath its wing.

• It flew and destroyed part of the northern ranger fort’s wall with acid.
• In the tower, it cast a spell that accelerated decay and filled the chamber with a toxic cloud. It breathed toward the tower after Jang was killed, but a wall shielded Wren and Finn.
• While hovering outside, it vomited bugs and spiders toward Arsène, Gundugar Herdtender, and Bruneg. It injured Arsène with a spell and shoved him back, then struck Bruneg with its tail; a later tail strike knocked Bruneg unconscious.
• It flew inside and demanded the party surrender in exchange for quick deaths. Wren killed it with an arrow.
• Its threats and its allies’ warnings marked the party’s encounters at the northern ranger fort and Fort Nunder.
• At the tower, it fought Arsène, Gundugar, Bruneg, Wren, Finn, and Jang; Wren’s arrow killed it.
