Fahrak, a hobgoblin officer and leader.
Fahrak wore riding boots and rode a giant wolf; she carried a lightning-covered Double-Bladed Weapon and appeared more disciplined than other hobgoblins.
Mounted on the wolf, Fahrak led four troopers and carried papers and a letter from Sergeant Escarbinus proposing an alliance. She offered Fangwood Six a place in the Ironfang Legion as “beloved slaves” and recognized them as bounty targets worth fifty gold each. At the cave, she arrived with her troopers and wolf, dismounted, and entered the tunnel alone to parley. She cursed the “Xulgath,” demanded the group’s identity, and presented the Legion’s terms. Once most of the group was visible, she identified them as the named bounties. Hostilities began inside the cave: she was slashed and dazed, slowed by magic, struck by conjured force, and hacked Gundugar with a battleaxe. She pressed through the choke while her wolf attacked, suffered repeated wounds as the fight widened, and was overcome by fear- and binding-magic, leaving her prone and slowed. She was defeated after sustaining repeated blows while her remaining troopers attempted to fall back; her body was searched and her documents recovered. Outside the kennels, she ordered the party to surrender or be killed. When Finnetharyn suggested surrender, she called for the trolls. Arsène shot her with silver ammunition, which caused no special reaction. She threatened Bruneg but failed to frighten him, drew a potion from her belt, drank it after Wren’s first attacks failed to connect, and rushed Bruneg, striking twice; he blocked one blow. Gundugar’s bottled lightning spread across her and nearby enemies. Her strike against Gundugar landed, but he blocked it. Bruneg attacked her with both weapons, and Arsène failed to frighten her before striking. Wren frightened her and landed an arrow. Fahrak tumbled past Bruneg and cut Finnetharyn; Bruneg struck at her, and her wound continued bleeding. An enemy spellcaster healed her. Bruneg struck her again, Arsène attacked, and Wren killed her with a shortsword.
