Erastil is a deity associated with agriculture, family, and community. He is depicted as a sturdy, middle-aged man with a warm demeanor, wearing simple, practical clothing suitable for a farmer. He carries a bow and a quiver of arrows, symbolizing his connection to hunting and the protection of the homestead. His teachings emphasize the importance of family and the cycles of nature.
During the events in Phaendar, the shrine dedicated to Erastil was desecrated, with his statue hacked and marred by hobgoblin weapons. The local cleric, Father Noelan, was among the dead, having fallen while defending the shrine from invaders. The party discovered bodies scattered within the chapel, indicating a violent struggle to reclaim the sacred space. The destruction of the shrine and the loss of its guardian affected the community in the wake of the hobgoblin invasion.
