About magical stone tower

Location overview

A magical stone tower has recently appeared in the market of Phaendar. This tower is the source of a hobgoblin invasion that resulted in the town being set ablaze. The tower's emergence has caused chaos in the area.
At Phaendar's Bridge, the party found dozens of corpses scattered across the bridge. The dead appeared to have fought valiantly to hold the bridge against the hobgoblins. The hobgoblins emerged from the magical stone tower, leading to the destruction and loss of life in Phaendar.

The Main Tower’s upper level was arranged to resemble a swamp: fog filled a marshy, mist-shrouded cavern where fresh water cascaded from a ceiling rock into an enormous murky pool. Mud, shallow pools, swamp grass, cattails, and ferns concealed the stone floor. A ragged hole pierced the southern wall, with moss and vines nearby; a flooded staircase descended, and a niche lay to the northeast. Gold and silver sparkled beneath the pool. Jang and her cat were found among the ferns. Wren killed the cat, and Arsène killed Jang. Wren later killed the dragon after it knocked Bruneg into the river; Arsène rescued Bruneg, and they returned before the hoard was looted. The hoard contained coins, a spell scroll, a broken lance, a shocking bastard sword, flying potions, and two wands. Wren found and desecrated a shrine to Sibbisukh in the niche, then informed the rescued rangers that the dragon and druid were dead.
