Nirmathans

Faction overview

The Nirmathans are a faction that identifies as investigators of survivors, explicitly denying any involvement in the burning of the forest. They reported that Ironfang Hobgoblins had invaded Nirmathas, destroying villages and enslaving people, and vowed to seek out and eliminate the responsible Ironfang Legion. Nirmathans in Fangwood Six expressed that Hobgoblin Mercenaries Tied To Maltheum had invaded their home, destroyed it, and killed their loved ones, leaving the forest as their remaining place to live. They asserted that they did not enslave people, kill wantonly, or cut down trees wantonly, and that they intended to drive the hobgoblins out.
At the site of the burned clearing, they discovered flasks with the scent of alchemist’s fire, arrows embedded in the ground and trees, and heavy hobgoblin bootprints leading north. They concluded that the fire had started approximately three days prior, determined that magic had physically moved trees to halt the blaze, and recovered fused corpses in poncho scraps consistent with Chernasardo Rangers. At Longfrond’s glade, they identified themselves as Nirmathans, tried to distinguish themselves from Hobgoblin Mercenaries Tied To Maltheum, and stated that they intended to kill the dragon Ypsyriac rather than serve it. They then left the glade, continued west, fought giant porcupines at an abandoned hobgoblin campsite, and searched the recovered camp after the beasts fled.
