She is blind, a fact she navigates with a matter of fact competence that makes visitors feel slightly foolish for noticing it, and she has the particular authority of someone who has been listening carefully to people for decades and has long since stopped being surprised by anything they say or do. Her tavern attracts a different crowd than the Rusty Dragon — less the adventurous and the passing through, more the local and the settled — and she tends it with the unhurried warmth of someone who knows exactly what kind of place she runs and has no interest in running any other kind.
