He runs his small operation with a combination of genuine civic utility and low-level extortion that the town tolerates partly because someone has to do the work and partly because Gorvi has a talent for making the alternative seem less appealing than his fees. He is loud, cheerful, and entirely unbothered by the low regard in which polite society holds both his profession and his heritage, which is either admirable self-possession or willful obliviousness, depending on who in Sandpoint you ask.
