Sanatorium Basement

Location overview

The basement beneath the sanatorium, reached through a separate workers' entrance where oiled raincoats hang inside. Dr. Habe rented it out after the sanatorium's income fell, and the staff were ordered never to go down there.

• It is a natural cavern fitted with added walls and doors.
• Sheet-covered bodies lie on tables with shovels nearby. They are well preserved and give off no smell of rot; one is an old woman with no obvious injuries.
• A Hooded Man rents the cavern to preserve bodies, claiming they were donated and that necromancy is legal if no one is endangered. He confronted the intruders, threatened force, denied raising ghouls, advised finding the source of the infestation, and repeatedly warned them not to touch one particular door. The group left without opening it.
