About Hambley Farm
Location overview
- Tall wheat obscures the ground in the fields, and scarecrows stand beside the paths. The barn is larger than the house.
- The farmhouse has shuttered windows, north and southeast exterior doors, an upper floor, a kitchen, a staircase, and a fireplace with a chimney.
- The farm was the site of a confrontation with animated scarecrows and ghouls. A badly wounded man tied in a scarecrow’s place was freed; he warned of the creatures and fled.
- Inside the house, blood and drag marks were found. Beneath a bed was a chest containing the homeowner’s 2,400 copper pieces.
- A ghast’s trap targeted Ruby, but with her absent, the ghast attacked Eliza. The ghast was killed and carried a foxglove key.
- A skinned corpse with a seven-pointed star carved into its chest and a note addressed to Ruby was found inside the house.
- During a blizzard, the occupants barricaded doors and windows as undead surrounded the house. Ghouls forced their way inside through doors and windows; further waves breached the farmhouse, with creatures also coming down the chimney and from upstairs.
- Scarecrows emerged from the surrounding cornfields and attacked; unlike the earlier scarecrows, they were ghouls. Mounted people with pitchforks and torches, accompanied by Sheriff Belor Hemlock, pursued ghouls fleeing near the house. The fighting continued inside until Ruby killed the last ghoul. Local farmers and about a dozen guards arrived, and Belor Hemlock told the occupants to clean up and explain what had happened.
- Ruby and Esquik had warned that dozens of ghouls were approaching and that the house needed to be barricaded.
- The farm’s house was besieged by undead during a blizzard.
- Sheriff Belor Hemlock and local farmers and guards arrived after the fighting.
