The zombie giant bat was an undead flying creature that exhibited a corrupt aura, causing nearby wounds to ooze and rot. It was one of two huge undead bats encountered at a riverside ferry crossing. Its flight could be broken by a hard enough blow, and its bite inflicted serious injury.

At the ferry crossing, it swooped down and bit Khar'gan, opening a serious wound. It later dove onto Samantha and bit her as well. Khar'gan moved around it and cut into it with his shortsword, while Hugh slashed at it, discovering that cutting attacks tore through its rotten flesh. The bat was ultimately hacked apart during the fight, while the other was dragged into the water and later destroyed there.
