About Thorngrip

Location overview

Thorngrip is a goblin town centered on a massive sequoia, concealed behind a curving wall of thorns. A hidden gate, formed by a concealed branch, opens a small passage through the barrier. The goblins are bald. Thatched wooden huts cluster around the tree; some are attached to its trunk and reached by ladders and ramps. None rise above the thorn wall, making the town difficult to spot from outside. A large shrine carved into the sequoia’s base bears many painted goblin faces and is known as the Ancestor Shrine.
At the shrine, a goblin oracle named Brakknap asked why visitors sought the man in black armor and whether Kracka’s companions treated him as one of them. Brakknap explained that Viro’s ritual concealed him from The Ancestors and disturbed three nearby sites of power. The Ancestors could help find the man, but Brakknap asked the visitors to drive the Isgeri Slayers from goblin territory first; Kracka agreed. Brakknap offered a cloudy-Crystal Pendant talisman to expose to the altered energies and marked the sites on the party’s map. The goblins offered food and drink to those needing rest, though Thorngrip had no inn or tavern. The visitors first left to seek the Isgeri Slayers, then returned to rest before revisiting The Hungry Hole. Kracka traded two shortswords and a shortbow to the goblins for a repair toolkit, and they fully repaired his shield by morning.
