Stumpfield

Location overview

Stumpfield is a recently established settlement of goblins and humans located north of Chitterwood. It consists of homes built on wagons and semi-permanent tents, and its residents are regarded as odd but harmless. Artists in Stumpfield gather around a communal wicker-and-rope sculpture of a four-legged animal, adding new details to it each month, creating a collective sculpture that they leave for nature to change or destroy. Tensions exist with the nearby settlement of Fernsby, which supplies Stumpfield while resenting the proximity of goblins. After the party reported that Fernsby’s attackers were goblin snakes, Erk and the residents expressed relief and provided them with bottles. In return, the party contributed paint, rope, tribal markings, and lit torches to the sculpture. Stumpfield’s artists prepared food, stew, wine, and a celebration, and by the next morning, the people of Stumpfield were inclined to support the party. The party then departed for Umok, leaving the sculpture decorated with Hellbreaker imagery and rose patterns. The Hellbreakers League were assigned to the region containing Stumpfield but opted to travel toward Vordia after discussing Wolfpoint’s military outpost.
