About Saringallow

Location overview

Saringallow is the headquarters of the Hellbreakers League and a small but growing city on the Conerica River. It owes much of its character to the Goblinblood Wars; protected by its old ramparts, it stood largely unscathed while the rest of the countryside burned, becoming a haven for refugees and recuperating soldiers. Local legend holds that it is the very place where the unlikely alliance of Eagle Knights, Hellknights, and Druman mercenaries first quietly took shape. The townsfolk earned a lasting reputation during those years for defying a harsh wartime ordinance to shelter and feed strangers, and that stubborn, communal spirit endures; Saringallow folk are known to despise nobility and aristocracy almost to a one. The city is still finding its footing as a proper metropolis, governed by an elected mayor and administered by an ancient Abadaran legal code, the "Old Book," reputed to favor the common and disenfranchised over the powerful. Its population is a patchwork of old Sarini-servant families clinging to traditional ways, longtime residents, and newer arrivals—including halflings, gnomes, and even goblins, some of whom were welcomed in deliberately to mend old wounds with the Chitterwood.
A secret headquarters of the Hellbreakers League is maintained in a two-story house on the eastern side of the town. The basement safe house includes a workroom, maps and records, a sparring room for recruits, and a heated side room. Locals have expressed anger towards Isger’s war steward and reported increasing undead attacks along the roads. The Hellbreakers gathered in Saringallow to assign a river mission to a party, which then departed downstream.
