Lucent Mission

Location overview

The Lucent Mission is located in the northern Aspodell Mountains, south of Umok. A poorly fortified building stands on a rough dirt path winding through hills at the outskirts of the mountains, flanked by boulders. The structure features unbarricaded, unshuttered windows and a pentagram emblazoned above the double doors. Inside are a prayer-marked entryway, pews, a pulpit, a burned pentagram on the eastern wall, a dining room, a kitchen, a training room, and a study. The Mission housed the Golden Erinys after the order retreated there; Sister Endreah, the order’s leader, and other nuns were among its occupants.
Sister of the Golden Erinys of Bright Embers departed from the Mission for a task intended to bring glory to Asmodeus, sending the last two orphans away under the pretense of adoption. Sister Endreah and others were present at the Mission when Sister Sylve sought assistance, although Andrea had lost trust in her. Sylvae had left the Mission weeks earlier and later provided directions to it, asking The Party to avoid harming her sisters if possible. The Group decided to travel to Umok first before considering the Mission.
At the Mission, two lemures and a better-trained sister were defeated in the kitchen, and three more sisters were subdued in the training room. A Crimson Thorn was taken from the training room’s weapon racks. In the study, Sister Endreah was with an avian-looking devil. The Group killed three devils in the fighting and left the defeated nuns alive; Endreah fought alongside a librarian devil and surrendered after it was killed. She had fled and been pursued before surrendering for questioning about the ritual and a missing Hellknight. Lexx was knocked unconscious during the fighting and later stabilized.
Under questioning, Endreah said that Viro Ahala planned a ritual near Chitterwood’s eastern border to summon a devil against goblins and others he considered undesirable. She described him as a dark-haired trans man in Hellknight armor. Kracka ordered her to remain and tend Sister of the Golden Erinys; she promised not to leave and said the Mission’s members would be forced to tell Viro Ahala the truth if he came there. Kracka searched the archives for a journal, a scholar’s compendium, and donated trinkets. Samantha took the journal while Endreah watched unhappily but did not intervene. Kracka later found an ebony statue of Asmodeus and handwraps beneath a secret panel under the podium. A search of the rooms turned up thirteen gold pieces and a bow staff. The Group then left for eastern Chitterwood.
