About Druma

Location overview

Druma is the immensely wealthy mercantile nation that borders Isger, and one of the richest realms in the entire Inner Sea. It is governed not by a crown but by the Kalistocracy — adherents of the Prophecies of Kalistrade, a creed that treats the pursuit and accumulation of wealth as a path to enlightenment, binding its followers to strict codes of personal discipline and free-market devotion. From its capital at Kerse, ruled by its High Prophet, Druma thrives on commerce above all, staying studiously neutral in others' conflicts while profiting from the trade that flows along rivers like the Conerica.
Druma maintained river trade; however, following the Hellbreakers League’s raids on trade vessels, it cut back that trade, a decision expected to hurt Isger’s economy and likely bring heavier patrols or Thrune soldiers. It maintains the Mercenary League, a professional army-for-hire, and was one of the powers that helped end the Goblinblood Wars. Where Isger is concerned, Druma's interest is chiefly the river trade, and while many Drumans hold no love for Cheliax—particularly its history of slavery, which runs against their own mercantile principles— their loyalties ultimately follow profit rather than principle.
