Andoran

Location overview

Andoran is the great champion of liberty in the Inner Sea, and the Hellbreakers' most powerful friend. Once a holding of Cheliax itself, Andoran threw off the empire's yoke in a popular revolution and rebuilt itself as a representative democracy — governed from its capital, Almas, by a Supreme Elect (currently Andira Marusek) and an advising council, ruling in the name of the common people rather than any crown. Andorans prize freedom and self-determination above all, and their hatred of slavery and tyranny is woven into the nation's very identity; their famed order, the Eagle Knights, ranges far beyond their borders to break the chains of the oppressed.
It was Andoran that answered Breachill's plea and the outrage over General Cormoth's execution, dispatching the Eagle Knights — officially "independent" of the state — to fight the Hellknights at the Battle of Hellknight Hill. That intervention is what finally tipped Isger's troubles into open war with Cheliax, casting Andoran as the rebel cause's natural ally, even if its aid comes with the interests of a foreign power attached. Concerns have arisen regarding Andoran's potential as a belligerent in a conflict with Cheliax, raising fears that Isger could become involved. While traveling toward Vordia, Kuippana observed people hoarding crops and supplies due to these fears. Kuippana reassured some individuals that Isgeran Independence, while Cheliax was preoccupied with Andoran, might protect Isger from much of the fighting.
