Event account

In a clearing around a petrified stump lay spent candles and crystal shards, and devils that had been left to guard them. Lexx spotted the odd-colored one whose aura hardened the rest and called the party onto it; Samantha's holy magic tore into it. With the devils dead, Lexx read the leavings and found them far too small for the ritual the sister had described — a rehearsal, not the thing itself. Week-old boot prints circled the stump and led nowhere the party could follow.
